    Picture now removed

    Anonymous commented  ·

I'm dismayed to hear this, it is strictly against the terms of service but I doubt that made any difference to the copier.

Is it still showing as the profile picture but been removed as evidence? Or are you having a problem removing it as evidence at all? If it's the first I can quickly sort that for you if you list the page. If it's the second then that will have to be pushed to tech support to sort out.

No, that's a different officer in an Infantry Regiment. I think the one you are after needs creating.

fairly sure this is his MC citation (it matches the events of Haifa exactly) https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/31043/supplement/14266 although names are different Capt. Thakur Dalpat Singh, Jodhpur Lrs., and cwgc https://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/1444053/thakur-dalpat-singh,-/

He has a page here https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/lifestory/1993074 although the CWGC automatching didn't find him so that will have to be linked and the info added manually.

https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/lifestory/2053447 is almost certainly him, the military records do throw up the odd case like this. Without seeing his birth certificates it's hard to know whether William or Walter was a nickname or simply an army clerk made a mistake over 100 years ago. So that he remains findable as William I suggest linking the CWGC and updating the first names to "William or Walter George"

He has a page here https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/lifestory/6209934 like many of the Australian Navy previously Royal Navy service. His RN service card shows his death in 1919

Hi Juliet, he has a page here https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/lifestory/3864849
The West Surrey Regt is often known by it's shorter title "The Queens Regiment" and that's probably why you couldn't find him.

try searching just by name. don't refine the search by Canadian and he'll probably appear as plain "military service" without rank details but his service record will match.
