  7. Allow age of less than 1 year to be entered from Census data

The software does not allow an age of 0 years to be entered. Often on a census children can be entered as 0 years, or a certain number of months. Can this be fixed please?

  8. Allow entry of more than 9 siblings

One of my ancestors who served in WW1 had 11 siblings. When adding Sibling Facts associated with Censuses, after entering the first 9 when I enter the 10th it deletes and overwites the first sibling entry. Similarly, entering the 11th it deletes and overwites the second sibling entry. Can the software be amended to fix this please?

  9. Transcription error

Joseph Crowe 81087 should be Joseph Crone [CWGC and headstone evidence attached to the record]

  11. Private A E Whiterod 7189 SuffolkReg and Drummer Albert Ernest Whiterod are same person

This is a duplicate ; Drummer Whiterod has a lot of evidence attached to him already, including CWGC, same service number and regiment given for both. Appears on Nayland War memorial Suffolk.

  12. Thomas D GEDGE = transcription error

I can find no record of a Thomas D GEDGE born 1864-1905. I think the surname should be GENGE. There is a Thomas Duncan GENGE birth registered Hackney district September quarter 1901 and a Thomas Deane GENGE birth registered Axminster district March quarter 1877.

  13. Sgt Alec Thomas Faiers 12th London Regiment, 470704

There seems to be a technical hitch with the system as the timeline is not updating with all the information I have added today, including correcting the spelling of his name, which was incorrectly transcribed as Alex T although regimental records attached to that spelling say Alec. Searching for this soldier using the corrected name results in a zero result, yet searching for the incorrect name brings up the correct updated page. All of the regimental records have been linked and the title heading shows that there are many new facts added, but they don't appear in time although they…

  14. Misspelling - either record or gravestone

277793 Private James Finnagan - I've added a photo of his grave which reads Finnigan. Either the record is incorrect or the stone was incorrectly engraved. Hopefully if family members are searching they'll try alternative spellings.

  15. Contemporary Lives

There are a lot of people who do not seem to be covered by criteria of Lives of the First World War because it's difficult to establish their service during the 1914 - 18 War, but who sacrificed their lives during the Second - Jane Haining is one example. Quoting from Wikipedia "Jane Haining (6 June 1897 – 17 July 1944) was a Church of Scotland missionary. She worked in Budapest, where she was arrested by the Nazis in 1944. She died in the concentration camp at Auschwitz later that year. Haining is the only Scot to be officially honoured…

  16. Why does the word "Sargeant" have the American spelling of "Serjeant" istead of the correct British spelling of "Sergeant"?

Why does the word "Sargeant" have the American spelling of "Serjeant" instead of the correct British spelling of "Sergeant"?

This is the British Army we are dealing with and not the Microsoft American English Spell-checker Army.

Please can you merge the 2 records for Temporary Lt W A Polglaze and Major William Arnold Polglaze. These are all the same person. I suggest that Major William Arnold is the master record as I have already started adding details

  18. WW1 letter from the front - faded

I have a very short letter from a relative about 1917 but it has faded too much. Is the a way I can recover the text (to make a copy)? Does IWM take donation of letters?

  19. https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/lifestory/6889478

This man is there but incredibly difficult to find. I had to use his middle name boscawen as the more usual ways did not work. His cwgc record gives a different date of death.

  20. Problem with Birth and Death entries for https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/lifestory/3826

Both birth and death entries have been entered as facts (fully sourced) but the Profile banner won't show the full date of birth, only the year and the Timeline doesn't incorporate either. I have tried re-entering the data but to no avail. Please can someone lift the bonnet...
