  1. Overview page needed

There should be a indication of how many life stories have been added to the site. I have added a few but am getting no sense of the scale of the conflict from what I have done.

  2. Make Lives available on a wider range or browsers

In the knowledge base it mentions that Lives will be available by people using the latest browsers. I think that it would be good to support Lives on as many browsers as possible. I think are increasing their browser support for their new site, to make it as accessible as possible as fmp users wanted that - so it's likely Lives ones will too?

  3. When will Australian soliders be added?

I know this may not be the correct place for this question, but I will ask anyway.

When will Australian soldiers be added?

I have begun working on the life story of John Daniel Putman who enlisted in England, however he is Australian. His brother also fought but under the Australian's, I have also been researching a number of other Australian soldiers and would love to include their information/ details on this site.

  4. 'Who's address' needs to corrected to 'Whose address'

In the summary of added facts, 'Who's address' should be 'Whose address'. Possessive pronouns never take an apostrophe and 'who's' is a contraction of 'who is'.

  5. Text boxes

I imagine you are working to improve the way continuous text in 'Life Stories' is rendered? At the moment words are split in the most bizarre fashion (sometimes a two letter word appears on two lines, or the last letter appears separately), which really interferes with the fluency of reading.

  6. British Awards and Decorations

Add MBE to the list of British Awards and Decorations. A cousin of mine was awarded the MBE in 1919 but I can't add it.

  7. Flag all Commonwealth Nation Soldiers and Identify ANZACS.

Currently Australian Imperial Service (AIF) are listed as British Army from the Medal Index. They should be listed correctly as Australian Army as denoted by AIF rank details.

  8. Allow users to upload a picture to their profile

I don't want to have to sign up to WordPress to create a gravatar. Please give us the ability to upload our own pictures to our profiles, a facility available on many other sites

  9. Who can make data public ?

Using "search official sources" for my father brings up his marriage record and the transcript of this gives my mother's full names. I have not linked this source to his profile as I do not want my mother's name publicly posted. However, can another (unrelated) user of the site choose to link this source and thus make this information public, over-riding my wishes ? I would like this made clear. I am aware that a GRO marriage record is a public document that anyone can order a copy of (if they know which one to order), but there is a…

  10. Incorrect source data

The medal card used as "seed" source data for my father incorrectly lists him as having been in the "3rd London Reg" after initially serving in the HAC. However, this is incorrect - he was commissioned in the 4th Bat. the London Reg, as is stated clearly in his service history details (which I have retrieved prior to Lives o t FWW) - do you have any advice as to how to treat such errors in source data ?

  11. Research already done in Find a Grave

Your messages system is not always working -- how to download research already done in another site - simpler ways of linking these would be good

  13. Other military records, electoral roll and absent voter lists

Could there be the facility to add details from other records, such as full military service records, electoral roll, absent voter lists from 1918, and trade directories?

  14. Battallion / Company Searches

I have not got this far yet, however it would be really useful if the battallion and perhaps company details of each person can be populated and then searched so that it would be easy to locate soldiers who fought together. I'm thinking that if I have group photographs of a certain battallion it may be of use to other people who are putting information on this site.

  17. Have some tips for getting started

It would be good to have a "Tips" page. I have found that the names usually need editing, as those on the MIC info are abbreviated, and need to be expanded.

  19. Soldiers Died in the Great War

It seems strange that it is not possible to search the Soldiers Died in the Great War database on Find My Past directly from Lives of the First World War. In the case of one of "my" soldiers it contains important additional informaton not found on the Medal Index card or the CWGC website.

  20. Canadian Expeditionary Forces

Would love to see Canadian Expeditionary Forces lists/records! My G-Grandfather left the UK to join in Canada. We believe that it was because of a health issue he served only a month in the 4th Battalion Kings Own Lancs in the first days of war. He was clearly determined to fight and it's certainly insightful to see how devoted he was to the cause that he left his family behind in England and joined up in Canada only to be shipped off to the front in France in 1916. I'm certain he wasn't alone and that many British subjects set…
