Need to facilitate correction of mistakes in the spelling of names of soldiers entered from the Medal Card Index.
Where a spelling mistake has been made when a name has been entered from the medal Card Index, this needs to be easily corrected. Is there a system?
You can correct any mistakes in transcription yourself by using the Medal index Card as your evidence, and adding/improving facts from there.
As an answer to my own question, you can change the regiment info in the title (along with rank) by temporarily editing a 'unit and rank' entry (say the date), saving and then re-editing that wrong date. This puts that entry to the bottom of the list which is where the title takes its info from! Haven't checked whether the service number is controlled from here as well though.
And does this 'improvement' cover changing a typo-ed service number or a better regiment description? I shall go look!

Connect a piece of evidence with the correct name to the person's life story. Then use that evidence to "improve" (i.e. correct) the name.
