Thomas D GEDGE = transcription error

I can find no record of a Thomas D GEDGE born 1864-1905. I think the surname should be GENGE. There is a Thomas Duncan GENGE birth registered Hackney district September quarter 1901 and a Thomas Deane GENGE birth registered Axminster district March quarter 1877.

Hello, I have checked the Medal Index Card for Thomas D Gedge and it does appear that GEDGE is what was written on the original card - he is on a page with other people of the same surname. It may be that there was a mistake when this was written but without a surviving service record or other military documents it is very difficult to prove for certain. Thank you for flagging this up. Best Wishes, Charlotte
