Service number unclear and mistranscribed from MIC
Stanley Andrew Harvey https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/lifestory/1588453
has been given the number #S4/122962 in seeding, but the number is much clearer in his Service Record, as S4/122565. I am as sure as I can be the Service Record is the same man - he made two entries in an autograph book which made clear he was in hospital, having been wounded at Gallipoli, and that he was with the ASC. This matches his Service Record.
Having looked at the Medal Index Card, I agree that it has been mis-transcribed - I have now updated this fact on Stanley's Life Story page. You may also wish to report this to The National Archives, who provided this record and transcription by clicking 'Have you found an error with this catalogue description? Let us know': http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D2576911
Thanks and Best Wishes,
