Merging life stories - Archibald Douglas

I think that these two profiles are most likely the same person:

but I can't see a service number for the second one.

Is someone able to verify this by looking at other sources, please?

p.p.s. The confusion also arose partly because Archie 1 was originally in the RFA, before the RFC, btw, and I wondered whether it was one person who had two sets of records from being in different units.

p.s. Not sure why it posted my comment as anonymous, because I was signed in on the other page and re-entered my email address here - but anyway, this is the Melanie Smith who posted the suggestion, obviously! (Probably because I didn't sign in before arriving on this page.)

    Hi Charlotte

Oh, thanks, that's excellent - good to have that cleared up and confirmed, and I see that you have added the service number. Is it possible to add the discharge date to the RFA record from the MIC? I'm afraid that I cannot see it, being a free subscriber at this point.

I have now bookmarked the Suggested Life Stories section and hope to remember to post any future requests of this type there.

(I also just discovered a message from someone else in my inbox about this - I seem to get notified of the completion of this request by email, but not ordinary messages on IWM.)

    Thanks again and best wishes,

Thanks for bringing these stories to our attention. Having looked at the Medal Index Cards, we can confirm that they are in fact two separate individuals - Archibald Douglas RFC was killed in October 1916, but Archibald Douglas RFA was discharged in 1918 due to wounds.

Thank you for your diligence. Please could you post any similar future requests in the Suggested Life Stories section of the Support Forum?

    Thanks and Best Wishes,
