The National Archives medal card transcription used to set up your page for this man:- https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/lifestory/4982986 Pte F Hall is incorrect. The medal card shows his Christian name as Ernest.

Thank you for pointing out the anomaly - the error was clearly a historical slip as the National Archives record has a correct transcription of what is on the page. Fortunately his surname, regiment and service number make clear he is indeed Ernest Hall, for whom I have found an existing life story using the service number for his subsequent service in the Labour Corps. https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/lifestory/5345780
That MIC shows his earlier service Pte. #9051, East Kent Regiment.
I have made the 'rogue' life story a duplicate, added the MIC from it to Ernest Hall (it showed the award of the DCM), with a note of explanation and also added the London Gazette entry for his DCM, which states "9051 Private E. Hall, 1st Battalion, East Kent Regiment." I hope that will clear up any confusion.
The rogue entry shows the award of the DCM and I have added
a duplicate page, his main one is here https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/lifestory/5345780
