27743 Alfred George Evershed 9th Royal Fusiliers

Hi, could you please create a Life Story - the Medal Index card seems to be missing although you will find him on the Soldiers who died in the Great War and the CWGC records - he was killed on the Somme

many thanks

I will add what I can find about this cousin of my maternal grandmother from my family history notes later. He was known as George and his family were from Billingshurst in Sussex. Sadly, he was one of about 20 soldiers killed in a night time flame-thrower attack around 3am on 6 August 2016. I believe he was one of draft of replacements following heavy casualties suffered by the battalion on 7 July 2016.
