  3. Name Transcription Error - Current record Arthur Neiass SN:#291674

    Arthur Neiass
Date of Birth: 14/04/1870 – Date of Death: not yet known
    Air Force (RAF/RFC), Service #291674

There appears to have been a transcription error with his first name– the original documents (Royal Air Force Records 1918-1840) show that the name is Alfred Neiass. All other details such as DOB, Next of Kin and Address match with details recorded in civilian records for Alfred Neiass.

If you could correct this small error that would be wonderful - as I have additional information I would like to add.

    Thank you.

  9. Major Dalpat Singh Shekhawat, MC Jodhpur Lancers

Killed in action 23rd September 1918. Can't find CWGC Record or Gazette - all I have is a news article dated September 27th 2017.
    https://www.hindustantimes.com/punjab/world-war-1-the-role-of-princely-states-and-punjab/story-Bl2kP1d8ZBwAnDYOXvo8JJ.html

"The Jodhpur Lancers’ commander, Major Dalpat Singh Shekhawat, who was killed in the battle, was posthumously awarded the Military Cross. Even today, the 61st Cavalry Regiment of the Indian Army commemorates the battle as Haifa Day on September 23 every year."

    Thanks very much.

  13. New page for Fred Blissett MGC service no 184857

    Hi

Service Records exist, but no page. Enlisted in 1918 so perhaps no service overseas.

Could you please create a page?

    Thanks

  14. Dorothy Mary Hissey

Dorothy Mary Hissey (known as Theo) was a volunteer VAD Red Cross nurse who worked at De Walden hospital in Eastbourne from 1914 to 1918. Her three brothers Richard James Hissey, Tristram Bentley Hissey and Bayard Sorby Hissey (my grandfather) all served and have life stories on this site. Tristram died in 1919 from the after effects of the war, but Richard (Dick) and Bayard survived.

I have a number of photographs of her, the hospital, staff and patients which I would like to include on the site, along with her Red Cross service card which can be found at…
