  2. Missing life stories.

Hello. I attach a link to a gazette notice listing those Decorated for their role in a raid on Zeebrugge. Three of the names (Tagg, Wigg and Biss) all won a bar to existing DSMs but I can't find lives for any of them.

    https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/30807/supplement/8593/data.pdf

Can they be added please. Thank you.

  3. Duplicate records: Lieut Robert Lewis-Lloyd (HMS Opal)

Two records exist (not clear why):
    https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/lifestory/6903319
    https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/lifestory/6903320
The first has been developed, and the second marked as a duplicate by a 'story'

  5. James Johnson: duplicate life stories

Rank, regiment and service numbers are the same. Second medal card for the MM, hence the duplication.

  6. Thomas Baldwin: duplicate life stories

Rank, regiment and service numbers are the same. Second medal card for the DCM, hence the duplication. Difference in death dates is due to an error in "Soldiers Died".

  11. Cyril Douglas Bennett

Hello. I've added detail to the Live record for Cyril Douglas Bennett but I'm not convinced that the medal index card is for the same chap. Angela Berry has added a photograph which is the guy I'm researching but the place of birth is wrong (not sure what the source was for this). The C D Bennett in the photograph was born in Moscow not Glasgow. Also the medal card refers to a lance corporal in first the Yorkshire Regiment and then as a lance corporal in the RAF. I think the medal card relates to a different Cyril Douglas…

  14. Herbert Patrick Legge Gardner - merge two records

Herbert Patrick Legge Gardner has both a record based on his medal index card https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/lifestory/1302051 and one on his RAF record https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/lifestory/6849351 : please merge. The RAF one has perhaps slightly more info as it includes his DoB , but then the MIC gives his previous army service, so I've no strong feelings as to which should be primary

  15. Geoffrey Hornblower C o c k

Hello. This is second time lucky trying to add this name. I've separated out the letters of his surname just in case the website software was blocking my email. Anyway, I came across a G H C o c k in a book on WW1 aces. After some awkward google searching I finally discovered it referred to Geoffrey Hornblower C... I haven't found a life story for him. If there isn't one could one be created please? The Wikipedia entry is attached. (I've also found Gazette entries).

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geoffrey_Hornblower_Cock

Incidentally. The IWM have copies of his log books. Is there any…
