linking family members who served
This tells me I need to cross reference when I Share a Story

I wondered about doing the same thing with links between lifestories. It saves setting up lots of little Communities. I have a relative who was really close friends with another soldier. There is a photograph of the two of them together, and also newspaper cuttings of things that the friend said when my relative was killed. I want to be able to link the two men together, but using a Community for a friendship seems excessive. Using this method also means that anyone can link people together, even if they are not subscribing.

I use it the same as Yvonne.
It might make it more sophisticated if 'web links' could be used in names mentioned in 'Stories' or associated in the 'Family' sections against siblings.

I just use the "Add an External Reference" tab to create a source called "Link to Fred's brother John" (for example) to link to the relative's Life Story. For example, see https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/lifestory/4024805 where I've added a link to the person's brother (4th bit of evidence from the bottom).
Hi there - it looks like your suggestion might be solved by grouping people together in a Community ( https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/communities ). Does that answer your question? If not, if you could go into a bit more detail it would help us respond to your feedback.
