Are displayed ranks the highest known rank of the person, or their rank at the end of WW1?
For those who continued their army career post-war, does Lives of the First World War show their highest rank achieved, their highest rank during the war, or the rank they began their WW1 career at?
I'm searching for Lieutenant Colonel George Lees, a Canadian serving in the British Army. He joined the war as a teenager in 1918, presumably as a private, but continued his army career afterwards and became Lt Cl.
Not sure which rank I should be searching under. Lt Cl only brings up one result, which I'm not sure is him, but Pte brings up hundreds.
Hello, did George serve overseas during the war? If he only joined in 1918 he might have seen home service, in which case he won't have a Medal Index Card and does possibly not have a Life Story page yet. If you could please submit the evidence that you have to this page http://support.livesofthefirstworldwar.org/forums/246125-suggested-life-stories we can investigate this further, and create a Life Story page for him if needed. Thanks and Best Wishes, Charlotte
