Mountbatten Family change of name by Royal Warrant 14th July 1917

I do have some thoughts - firstly names often change legally on Marriage and also following Deed Poll.
The change of name to Mountbatten was by Royal Warrant - so I think that this should be respected.
I can't pretend to understand this blog but I get the gist. The Battenberg Family name in the U.K changed to Mountbatten on the 14th July 1917, and as I stand for the National Anthem I feel that Lives of the First World War should respect this.
Thanks

It's difficult when the name changed during the period in question as records will show either, there are multiple ways this can be tackled and at the moment no uniform approach (impossible with so many contributors) I would suggest amending the surname to "Battenberg, later Mountbatten" and then the search should find it whichever one is searched for.
